NEW HOUSE

Mavejakuani Tjipombo is seated in her new home with Her Worship the Mayor of Opuwo Rosa Mbinge Tjeundo and Minister of Urban and Rural Development Erastus Uutoni. She is one of the 112 Shack Dweller Federation houses beneficiaries. Tjipombo forms part of the 46 percent of unemployed youth in Kunene. According to her, she is making a living from selling kapana and recharge vouchers. Tjipombo encourages fellow youth to join the Federation, noting that it is cheaper for low-income earners to own a house. Tjipombo said she built her house for N$ 40 000.
