Namibia Housing Action Group (NHAG) Trust is recruiting a Financial Project Officer (Part-time)

Namibia Housing Action Group (NHAG) Trust is a Non-Governmental Service Organization, aiming to support and add value to the activities and processes of the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN). NHAG facilitates and advocates for change in the livelihood of urban and rural poor by supporting the SDFN actions to secure affordable land and shelter and improving the living conditions of those excluded from commercial housing and financial processes, using a community-driven approach.

NHAG is looking for a Part-Time Financial Project Officer with the following requirements. Applications will be considered within the gender balance requirements of the NHAG Trust.

Responsibilities:

-          To manage a comprehensive EU Grant as Financial Project Officer.

-          To administer all financial aspects of this EU grant according to the requirements of the EU contract.

-          To implement internal budget control concerning this grant.

-          To prepare documentation for external auditors and accompany the process of auditing.

-          To cooperate closely with colleagues from NHAG and SDFN who are implementing this grant.

-          To work closely with NHAG financial and administrative staff on this grant and other issues if needed.

-          To assist financial and admin Staff as well as Management at the NHAG office in any financial issues.

 

Qualifications:

-          Bachelor’s in accounting or equivalent degree.

-          At least 5 years working experience in accounting.

-          Working experience in the NGO sector.

-          Working Experience regarding the financial management of an EU Grant.

-          In-depth knowledge in the financial software Pastel.

Additional Competencies:

-          Proven ability to produce high quality financial reports.

-          Personal flexibility, in-depth ability to work in a team and high motivation.

-          Willingness to work after office hours.
